This is what I think:
Your business, your photography, should matter.
This is a blog about how much your photography matters to both you as the creator, and the person who owns it. As a professional photographer, you need to make a living at this – your photography business matters to you because it supports your life. It matters because it is an expression and validation of what you believe (or it should be, right?). If you want clients paying professional rates for your work (hint – you do) then your work needs to be significant to them – it needs to touch the same visceral emotions in them that it does in you. I believe that it isn’t enough to produce great work, you have to communicate the value and the greatness so the clients who believe in the same greatness and find you, hire you, and enjoy what you do. And I also believe that there is a science behind that that we can leverage.
That’s what this blog is about. What you do. Why you do it. How you do it. How much it has to cost. And perhaps most importantly – why it matters.
If you aren’t interested in producing work that matters to clients then this blog may not be for you. But stick around, because I’d love the chance to change your mind.
